I am taking it back to Target and getting a Cuisinart. No kidding - there was a puff of smoke, a flash of light, and it died. Complete garbage. I bought this chopper on Jan 27th and thought it looked a little flimsy, but had faith that it might work. On Feb 7th I tried bread dough in it.
I bought this to make baby food and it's so much better then the ones they make for baby food. I am glad that I went with Kitchen-aid, a brand that I trust. Definitely worth the money. They're just not as strong as a regular one. This little processor does everything and it's so easy to clean. It purees veggies and finely chops meat.
While the chopper does an excellent job, the safety features make it somewhat difficult to use. Purchased after very little product research.
--- I experienced the same problem that many other people did. --- Well it was for this piece of garbage which stopped working one month after my wife had purchased this. I will never again buy a Kitchen Aid product like this at any price.BEWARE. I think my wife used this perhaps a dozen times before it died completely.
What a piece of junk this is. This model obviously IS a real lemon. - Now I see what everybody meant about a " bad button ". --- My wife bought this and used it for exactly one month to chop up soft food for baby food.
I buried it in the trash where it belongs. With all of these similar complaints you KNOW Kitchen Aid is aware of this " bad button " problem but has obviously chosen to ignore it and look the other way.I wish I had read about the " bad button " BEFORE I purchased this hunk of junk. You'd think after all of these complaints and bad reviews about the " bad button " on this machine that Kitchen Aid would wise up and either recall, offer to repair or just manufacture a new model with an " operative button " that won't die after one month. Sounds like a tough job, huh. Although she had subsequently discarded the box and sales receipt; I called Kitchen Aid who did not even want to hear about my plight or even examine this defective unit which cosmetically looked like it was just taken out of the box.
It makes it fine but it sure saves time & energy by doing it by hand. I use this mainly to chop up onions and it does a great job.I also use this to chop cabbage for cole slaw.
